Press Conference to Unveil Study on Effects of 2019 Rent Laws on Rent-Stabilized Apartment Buildings in Westchester County

(ARMONK, N.Y.) The Building and Realty Institute (BRI) will hold a press conference on Thursday, February 16th, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. to introduce the release of The Housing Stability and Tenant Protection Act: An Analysis of Early Impacts in Westchester County. The study reviews the preliminary impacts of the 2019 Housing Stability and Tenant Protection Act (HSTPA) law in the real estate market within Westchester County.

Commissioned by the BRI, the study was conducted by nonprofit group Hudson Valley Pattern for Progress. The findings in this report suggest that there may indeed be some unintended consequences of HSTPA that may prove detrimental to both property owners and tenants, which will be presented during the press conference.

Speakers at the event will include Timothy Foley, CEO and Executive Vice President of the Building and Realty Institute (BRI) and Adam Bosch, President and CEO of Hudson Valley Pattern for Progress.
