Join us for our annual Advisory Council of Managing Agents (ACMA) Membership Lunch on Wednesday, April 3.

Our topic will be:

“Mandates That May Come to Westchester: Reserve Studies and Greenhouse Gas Emissions”

We’ll be looking at government mandates that have recently been enacted in neighboring areas outside of Westchester that are creating new challenges for co-ops, condos, and multifamily apartment buildings. What happens outside Westchester does not always stay there, and these policies may well be imported to your clients in the near- to medium-term, either through local ordinances or statewide laws.

Specifically, we’ll look at how property managers and property owners have been adopting to Local Law 97 in New York City, whereby building with more than 25,000 square feet are required to meet new energy efficiency and greenhouse gas emissions limits as of 2024, with stricter limits coming into effect in 2030. We’ll also talk about the new law in New Jersey mandating a reserve study for each co-op and condo, requiring them to look at each building’s physical components and determine whether the entity has enough funds in reserve to pay for anticipated major repairs or replacements.

Although the content of this meeting is geared toward managing agents, at the BRI, our motto is “A member of one is a member of all!” You are welcome to attend this meeting whether or not you yourself are a managing agent.

Speakers:

  • Jac Zadrima, Principal, Genesis Realty Group
  • Ilirjan Fundo, President, Fundo Group Consulting
  • Orest Tomaselli, President and CEO, Strategic Inspections
